Measuring Vent Covers
Measure the Opening
Remove the existing vent cover if present. Measure the inside dimensions of the opening for the vent cover. Record the length and width to the nearest 1/8th of an inch.
Consider the Depth
Measure the depth of the vent opening if the cover needs to recess into the space, ensuring there is enough clearance for installation. Typically 2.75" of clearance is adequate for the opening of the dampers.

Measuring Cabinet or Drawer Pulls and Knobs
Identify the Type
Determine whether you need a knob (single screw) or a pull (two screws).
Measure the Screw Holes (for pulls)
Use a tape measure to find the distance between the centers of the two screw holes on your existing pull. This is known as the 'center to center' measurement.
If there are no existing pulls, decide where you want the new pulls to go and mark these points on the cabinet or drawer.
Consider the Length and Projection
The length of the pull to ensure it doesn’t extend beyond the edges of your cabinet or drawer.
How far will the pull or knob stick out (projection) from the face of the cabinet or drawer?
Every item features an accurate diagram to provide the necessary dimensions for your project.
